- Provide management oversight to all technical staff and ensure the application of technical best practices and quality control for the entire project.
- Ensure cost effective and efficient integration of all technical components of the project, with a focus on achieving the results, targets and outcomes defined in the project award and monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) plan.
- Draft annual workplans and reports required by the donor and host government.
- Identify delays in project implementation and risks related to project implementation in a timely manner, suggest appropriate adjustments, and communicate these risks to senior managers.
- Ensure compliance with USAID environmental compliance rules and regulations, and other regulatory components (ADS 205 on gender equality; ADS 201 related to climate, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in international development, agriculture, agricultural economics, economics, enterprise development, or related field is required.
- Minimum eight years of professional experience implementing agricultural development projects required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing and supervising technical staff for agricultural related projects.
- Demonstrated understanding of key technical competencies including market systems development, resilience, nutrition sensitive agriculture, climate smart agriculture, and private sector engagement.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% time to ensure program quality.
- Professional proficiency in both spoken and written English and French.
- Master’s degree is highly desired.
- Grants management experience highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience working in Western and Central Congo is highly desired.
- Demonstrated experience implementing complex multimillion dollar activities funded by USAID or other donor funded development activities.
- Familiarity with USAID or other donor rules and regulations preferred.
